This page explains how AKWAYA presents product facts, grading, origin, treatment and review information. For any specific item, the current product page and selected variant are the source of truth.
AKWAYA’s transparency principle is simple: disclose what is supported by the product data, explain seller-specific terminology, and do not fill unknown fields with assumptions.
What AKWAYA product pages disclose

| Pearl size | Shown in millimeters as an exact value or range when available. |
| Origin | Displayed only when an item-specific or verified source supports the geographic origin. AKWAYA does not infer origin from pearl type alone. |
| Seller grade | Displayed as an AKWAYA seller grade when supported by product data. It is not presented as a universal industry grade or a GIA laboratory grade. |
| Luster, surface and matching | Displayed when product-specific information is available. Blank fields are not converted into assumed quality claims. |
| Treatment | Displayed when a treatment is explicitly disclosed. A blank treatment field does not mean AKWAYA is claiming the pearl is untreated. |
| Metal and construction | Metal, purity, clasp, earring style, earring back and related construction details are shown when supported by the listing data. |

How AKWAYA uses pearl grades
AAA, AAA+, AAAA and similar letter grades are seller grading terms rather than one universal cross-seller scale. AKWAYA publishes its own type-specific thresholds and minimum-gate approach in the AKWAYA Pearl Grading Methodology.
When a product has a seller grade, shoppers should read it together with the actual pearl type, size, luster, surface, shape, color, nacre context and matching information. For a consumer-oriented explanation, see AAA vs AAAA Pearls.
Origin and treatment: what a blank field means
AKWAYA does not turn missing data into a claim. If an origin or treatment field is blank, that means the current product record does not provide a supported disclosure for that field. It should not be interpreted as proof of a particular origin or as proof that a pearl is untreated.

Current product data is the source of truth
Some AKWAYA products have existed in the catalog for many years and legacy listing data is being reconciled into a more structured format. Where older descriptive copy and newer structured specifications differ in level of detail, use the current product page, selected variant and structured product specifications when making a purchase decision.
If an item has multiple closely related configurations, AKWAYA may show links to separate products for different sizes, metals, lengths or styles. These remain separate Shopify products with their own URLs, prices and inventory; they are not silently merged into one SKU.
How review verification is handled
AKWAYA displays customer ratings and reviews from its current review data. A review is labeled Verified purchase only when the underlying review record explicitly contains a verified-purchase flag. Historical reviews without that field are not retroactively marked verified.
What AKWAYA does not claim
- AKWAYA does not present seller letter grades as universal cross-seller grades.
- AKWAYA does not present an AKWAYA seller grade as a GIA laboratory grade.
- AKWAYA does not infer geographic origin when it is not supported by the item record.
- AKWAYA does not interpret a blank treatment field as proof that a pearl is untreated.
- AKWAYA does not claim a certificate is included unless the individual product listing explicitly supports that statement.
- AKWAYA does not label a review as a verified purchase unless the review record explicitly supports that status.
